Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said: “Ukraine, together with its allies, is actively preparing for the UN General Assembly High-Level Week. As President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized, one of the most important events on our agenda will be the Fifth International Crimea Platform Summit, to be held on September 24 at the UN Headquarters in New York. The summit, organized on the occasion of the UN’s 80th anniversary, will reaffirm the purposes and principles of the UN Charter — sovereignty, territorial integrity of states, and the global commitment to peace. At the summit, the firm stance of the General Assembly on respecting the UN Charter in the context of Russia’s aggression and attempts to annex Ukrainian territories will be confirmed. Since 2014, the Assembly has adopted more than twenty resolutions affirming that Crimea belongs to Ukraine. We invite all peace-loving UN member states to join the summit, remain committed to the UN Charter, and contribute to achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine in line with the principles of the UN Charter.”
