Sybiha: Russia’s crimes against Ukrainian children are among the worst
Vienna, 4 December (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha attended a side event held within the framework of the OSCE meeting.
Foreign Minister Sybiha thanked the countries that participated in the side event held in Vienna within the OSCE Ministerial Council, where Russia’s practices of indoctrination and militarization targeting Ukrainian children were discussed.
Sybiha stated that Russia’s crimes against Ukrainian children are among the most heinous of this war, saying: “These crimes require not only accountability, but also the development of new international legal tools for sanctions and punishment to protect children.”
He thanked the countries that supported the UN General Assembly resolution, noting: “I expressed my gratitude to all countries supporting our resolution calling on Russia to end the deportation, forced displacement, separation of children from parents or guardians, alteration of personal data, illegal adoption, and ideological indoctrination of Ukrainian children.”
Sybiha added that he is grateful for the stance and participation of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, the Secretary-General, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly, as well as the foreign ministers of Germany, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway and Slovenia, and representatives of Canada, Estonia, the United Kingdom and OSCE PA.
