Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha addressed the humanitarian situation in temporarily occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region during a United Nations (UN) Security Council meeting in New York.

According to a statement by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sybiha said that people in Oleshky were being deprived of food, water, electricity and medicine.

Sybiha said, “As winter approaches, Russia is deliberately making life there impossible. They are condemning people to starvation and driving them to death. No country or international organization can reach these people.”

Sybiha said that food, water and resources necessary for survival in the area are diminishing day by day, drawing the international community’s attention to the situation of civilians in Oleshky.
