Sybiha: Defense cooperation was one of the main items on the agenda of the talks
Kyiv, September 17 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that he discussed defense cooperation, peace efforts and Ukraine’s accession process to the European Union with Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tone Kajzer during their meeting in Kyiv.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that during his meeting in Kyiv with his Slovenian counterpart Tone Kajzer, they exchanged views on the course of the war in Ukraine, the consequences of Russia’s attacks and the latest developments in peace efforts.
Sybiha said defense cooperation was one of the key issues in the talks, noting that Slovenia’s military support, opportunities for joint production and new support options were discussed. He added that advancing Ukraine’s accession process to the European Union, regional cooperation and preparations for the Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit to be hosted by Slovenia in 2027 were also discussed.
Sybiha also thanked Slovenia for its support for reconstruction, humanitarian demining, energy resilience and the rehabilitation of Ukrainian children. Noting that the two ministers also attended the opening of the new academic year of the Ukrainian Diplomatic Academy, Sybiha said the academy had resumed its activities as a higher education institution.
