Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milojko Spajic made a statement on social media regarding his country’s European Union integration process.

Spajic expressed his satisfaction that, after three years of intensive work, he hosted members of the EU Council Working Party on Enlargement (COELA), as well as members of the working group preparing Montenegro’s EU Accession Treaty, at an event organized by the Embassy of Ireland.

Noting that the preparation of the Accession Treaty is important for the European Union as well as Montenegro, Spajic said that in the current geopolitical environment, the EU’s enlargement policy has the potential to be one of the most powerful instruments of transformation.

Spajic said Montenegro will mark the 18th year of its European journey this autumn and expressed hope that this period will represent an important stage in the maturation of the European idea and the goal of a stronger, united Europe.
