Spain provides 5.85 million euros to Sudan through AECID
Madrid, April 18 (Hibya) - Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares, announced that Spain has contributed 5.85 million euros through the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) to assist civilians in Sudan.
Minister Albares emphasized that the humanitarian situation in Sudan is one of the worst crises on the planet.
He noted that two years of armed conflict have led to the forced displacement of around 15 million people, and added, "We are reiterating our call for a ceasefire, the protection of civilians, and respect for international humanitarian law. Spain has contributed 5.85 million euros through the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) to alleviate the situation of civilians in Sudan."
