Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaheen met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to India.

During the meeting, Shaheen emphasized the willingness of the State of Palestine to strengthen bilateral relations with the Republic of India and informed Modi about the political and humanitarian developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially in East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, in light of ongoing attacks and increasing humanitarian suffering.

Shaheen expressed appreciation on behalf of the State of Palestine for India's supportive stance on the Palestinian cause, particularly at the United Nations and the Human Rights Council, and praised India's ongoing humanitarian, economic, and developmental support to the Palestinian people.

Prime Minister Modi affirmed that India would continue its firm and supportive stance on the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, highlighting India's commitment to international legal principles and international legitimacy resolutions, and reiterated India's willingness to continue supporting humanitarian and development efforts in Palestine.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Shaheen expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit the State of Palestine in the near future, reflecting the depth of bilateral relations and friendship between the two countries and peoples.
