The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar welcomed the announcement from the Syrian government about reaching a ceasefire agreement as part of a comprehensive deal with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The agreement includes an understanding for the phased integration of military and administrative forces between both sides.

The Ministry expressed hope that this agreement will contribute to strengthening civil peace in the Syrian Arab Republic and improving security and stability.

The Ministry also reiterated that for Syria's stability and prosperity, the state should have a monopoly on the use of force through a unified army that represents all elements of Syria, thus ensuring the preservation of the country's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
