Shaheen calls on Finland to recognize the State of Palestine
Ramallah, September 17 (Hibya) – Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Farsin Aghabekian Shaheen, held a phone call with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen.
Minister Shaheen informed his counterpart of the catastrophic conditions during the war of extermination, killings, and starvation in the Gaza Strip, as well as the ongoing violations in the West Bank.
Emphasizing that the policy of occupation is clear and that the international community has a legal and moral responsibility to deter these violations, Minister Shaheen also praised Finland’s participation in the New York Declaration and urged it to join Saudi Arabia and France in recognizing the State of Palestine.
For her part, Finnish Foreign Minister Valtonen stressed her country’s support for a two-state solution and a ceasefire, and the need to ensure a just future for the Palestinian people.
