Sanchez: We will not leave the right to housing solely to the market
Madrid, Jan. 12 (Hibya) — Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez shared details of a new royal decree prepared to address problems in the housing market and containing three decisive measures.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that three urgent measures will be implemented to ease access to rental housing, including rewarding landlords who do not raise rents, limiting seasonal contracts, and preventing the abuse of room-rental services.
Speaking about the planned regulations, Sanchez said: “We will approve a royal decree with three urgent and decisive measures to facilitate access to rental housing.”
Detailing the decree, Sanchez stated: “We will reward landlords who renew contracts without increasing prices for tenants, limit seasonal contracts to put an end to fraudulent use, and prevent abuses in room-rental services.”
Emphasizing the government’s core approach, Prime Minister Sanchez concluded: “This government will not leave the right to housing solely to the market and will use all its tools to help people.”
