Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar met with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand.

Referring to the aid flotilla activities at the center of the discussions, Saar said, “I explained that the sole purpose of the extremist anti-Israel flotilla activists is provocation in the service of Hamas. Just look at what they later did in Spain, Greece, and Austria.”

Stating that Israel would maintain its legal and military stance on the ground, Saar noted, “Israel will continue to act in full accordance with international law and will not allow any violation of the lawful naval blockade imposed on Gaza.”

Saar also emphasized the security situation within Canada and the rising incidents of anti-Semitism, concluding his statement with the following words:

“I also highlighted the terrible wave of anti-Semitism in Canada — an average of 19 incidents per day. The Canadian government must take action against anti-Semitic incitement and attacks.”
