Russell: The conflict is a nightmare of rapidly growing humanitarian needs for children
New York, April 17 (Hibya) – UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said the conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo is a nightmare of horrific violence and the rapidly growing humanitarian needs of children.
Russell stated that the conflict in eastern Congo is a nightmare driven by violence and escalating needs affecting children.
She emphasized that the international community must support a stronger humanitarian response with sustainable funding and guide the parties toward peace.
