Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it welcomed the decision by the Kingdom of Belgium and the Republic of Rwanda to resume diplomatic relations and reopen their respective embassies.

In a statement, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the decision was a positive step reflecting the determination of both countries to overcome their differences through dialogue and mutual understanding.

The statement noted that Qatar hosted the first meeting between the two countries' foreign ministers in Doha in June 2025 and that the meeting contributed to the launch of direct dialogue. It added that subsequent meetings and contacts paved the way for the restoration of diplomatic relations.

Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation for the constructive approach shown by both sides in addressing differences and resolving misunderstandings, and voiced hope that the resumption of diplomatic relations would create new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries and contribute to peace and stability at the regional and international levels.
