Prevot meets with Tshisekedi
Brussels, January 20 (Hibya) – Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Prevot, met with the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Felix Tshisekedi.
Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Prevot, stated that they held a meeting with the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Felix Tshisekedi.
Noting that they reaffirmed their commitment to finding a peaceful solution in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, respecting the country’s territorial integrity, and calling for an inclusive national dialogue, Prevot said:
“Belgium continues to be a strategic partner of the Democratic Republic of the Congo; it remains determined to support peace and to ensure that European countries pay sufficient attention to the dramatic humanitarian situation faced by the population in areas illegally controlled by M23.”
