Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made statements regarding relations between Tehran and Beijing and regional developments.

Pezeshkian said the convergence of views between Tehran and Beijing on respect for national sovereignty, reducing tensions, and preserving regional peace and stability creates a solid foundation for continued constructive cooperation.

Noting that Iran also shares this approach, Pezeshkian said, “Iran shares this approach and emphasizes the importance of returning to this understanding, adhering to previously reached commitments, and creating the necessary conditions for serious, substantive and results-oriented negotiations to move forward.”

Pezeshkian also commented on Chinese President Xi Jinping’s stance supporting a return to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Pezeshkian said, “I appreciate President Xi Jinping’s thoughtful and responsible stance in support of returning to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, as well as his support for resolving differences through dialogue and diplomacy.”
