Palestine: We condemn the occupation forces’ obstruction of Palm Sunday celebrations
Ramallah, April 13 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the actions of the occupation forces that prevented thousands of Christian citizens from celebrating Palm Sunday in Jerusalem.
The Ministry strongly condemned the pressure and arbitrary measures by the occupation forces against citizens’ freedom of access to Jerusalem, particularly preventing thousands of Christians from the occupied West Bank from entering the city to participate in Palm Sunday celebrations, through numerous obstacles and checkpoints set up around Jerusalem and the Old City.
On the occasion of the holy Easter holiday, the Ministry extended its greetings to Palestinian Christians and Christians around the world, and called on the international community to apply serious pressure on the occupying power to respect international law and the Geneva Conventions, especially the right to freedom of worship and access to holy sites.
