According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in New York for an official visit taking place from May 26 to 28.

Upon his arrival, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister was welcomed by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad and Pakistan’s Consul General in New York Aamer Ahmad Atozai.

It was stated that during the visit, participation would take place in the high-level UN Security Council Open Debate organized under China’s presidency of the UN Security Council on the theme “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-Centered International System.”

It was also noted that bilateral meetings with counterparts and senior UN officials would be held during the visit.
