Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to a statement by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting addressed steps to further develop cooperation between the two countries. In particular, cooperation in trade and investment, education, health, the automotive sector, as well as digital and information technology fields was discussed.

The ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East. Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi appreciated Pakistan's diplomatic and mediation efforts aimed at supporting regional peace and stability.

The sides expressed hope that all parties would return to dialogue and that progress would be made toward implementing the Islamabad Agreement. The meeting also addressed the impact of ongoing developments on energy supplies, supply chains and the global economy.

Dar and Motegi reaffirmed their commitment to continuing bilateral contacts and further expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
