Netanyahu: We have a unique and historic alliance with the United States
Jerusalem, 22 February (Hibya) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership with the United States, while also underlining the strong ties with India and the bilateral relations set to be reinforced by Prime Minister Modi’s visit.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the opening of the government meeting about his country’s foreign policy strategies and international alliances.
Stating that alliances must be diversified, Netanyahu said, “We have a unique and, in my view, historic alliance with the United States, both at the intergovernmental level and through my personal relationship with President Trump. This alliance does not mean that we are not seeking other alliances; on the contrary, we are constantly striving to build alliances.”
Referring to his close friendship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the growing relations between the two countries, Netanyahu said, “We are close friends; we speak frequently by phone and visit each other. I visited India, and Modi visited here. We walked together in the waters of the Mediterranean, and since then much water has flowed in the Mediterranean, the Ganges, and the Jordan.”
Netanyahu concluded, “In any case, the fabric of this relationship has grown even tighter, and he is coming here so that through a series of decisions we can further strengthen cooperation between our governments and our countries.”
