Meloni: We will stand by our Paralympic athletes
Rome, 22 February (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni published a message following the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, stating that they are proud of the athletes’ achievements.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni spoke about the conclusion of the Winter Olympic Games hosted by her country.
Referring to the sacrifices of the athletes, Meloni said, “The Olympic Games gave us unforgettable emotions and a sense of pride that will remain in Italy for a long time. We achieved this success thanks to our athletes who, with their talent, dedication and team spirit, brought Italy’s name to the world with extraordinary results.”
Meloni also thanked the thousands of people who worked to ensure the security and smooth organization of the event, stating, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the women and men who contributed to organizing the Games, the volunteers, and everyone in the police, health services and public services who worked with dedication to guarantee safety and efficiency.”
Meloni concluded her remarks by saying, “Now our eyes are on the next heroes. We will stand by our Paralympic athletes and are ready to support Italy once again.”
