Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement regarding the violent incidents that took place in Samaria last night.

Netanyahu said, “I strongly condemn the violent incidents that took place in Samaria last night and the harm caused to the security forces who arrived at the scene to maintain order and security.”

Stating that those involved in the incidents did not represent the settler community in the area, Netanyahu said, “A small number of rioters do not represent the law-abiding settler population in Judea and Samaria, do them a great injustice and hinder our forces from carrying out their duties.”

Netanyahu said, “I fully support the Israel Defense Forces and Border Police operating to combat terrorism and ensure security. I call on law enforcement authorities to prosecute the rioters to the fullest extent permitted by law.”
