Netanyahu: Newly appointed Shin Bet chief will deal with the serious issue
Jerusalem, April 6 (Hibya) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the newly appointed Shin Bet chief will be the person to deal with the serious issue that has emerged.
Netanyahu said that the Prime Minister’s Office denied the Shin Bet’s statement, adding that the Shin Bet chief who was dismissed by the government was prevented from investigating a serious incident involving the head of the Jewish division who reportedly acted illegally, because he himself was involved.
He noted that by definition, the Shin Bet chief is the one who approves the arrest of a Jew, and the recordings indicate that the Shin Bet commander feared there was no evidence and that the arrests were carried out directly by the chief’s office.
“Ronen Bar, who falsely accused the Prime Minister in the High Court of using agency powers against civilians, has a vested interest in preventing the opposite from being revealed. The newly appointed Shin Bet chief will handle the serious issue.”
