Macron stated that after the Palestinian Islamic Movement’s attack on Israel in the fall of 2023, France spoke in unison with Egypt.

“We spared no effort. We condemn Israel’s renewed attacks on Gaza, demand the release of all hostages, and call for an immediate return to a ceasefire,” he said.

Macron emphasized that France strongly supports the Gaza reconstruction plan and the goal of Palestinian governance led by the Palestinian Authority, excluding the Islamic Movement, stating: “Peace requires politics. A two-state solution conference will be essential. It’s time to build.”
