NASA announced that an important stage in the launch preparations for the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope had been completed.

According to the statement, technicians loaded approximately 290 gallons of hydrazine fuel into the telescope on July 25 at a facility located at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

It was stated that after launch, the Roman Space Telescope would use its propulsion system to reach the Sun-Earth L2 Lagrange point, located approximately 1 million miles from Earth. The telescope is expected to carry out its five-year primary mission there, while the amount of fuel it carries could allow the mission to be extended for another five years.

NASA reported that the telescope's solar panels had also undergone pre-launch checks and that following fueling, it would be attached to the rocket's upper stage and placed inside the protective payload fairing.

It was noted that the Roman Space Telescope would be used to study thousands of exoplanets, as well as to conduct research into dark energy and the rate of expansion of the universe.

NASA announced that the Roman Space Telescope was scheduled to be launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from the Kennedy Space Center on August 30.
