Metsola: European Parliament to open office in Ottawa
Brussels, September 14 (Hibya) - European Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced that the Bureau of the European Parliament has approved the establishment of a European Parliament office in Ottawa.
European Parliament President Metsola made a statement regarding European Union-Canada relations.
Metsola said that ahead of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's address to the European Parliament on Thursday, the Bureau of the European Parliament approved the opening of a European Parliament office in Ottawa.
Stating that the office is expected to facilitate interparliamentary dialogue on both sides of the Atlantic and that its regional mandate is planned to extend to the Arctic region, Metsola said a new era of cooperation between Europe and Canada has begun.
