German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made a statement regarding the ceasefire agreement reached last night between the US and Iran.
Expressing his satisfaction with the decision, Merz said: “I welcome the two-week ceasefire reached last night by the United States and Iran.”
Referring to mediation efforts, Merz stated: “We thank Pakistan for its mediation.”
Merz concluded by emphasizing diplomatic goals: “The aim now is to negotiate in a way that brings a permanent end to the war. We are in close contact with our partners on this matter.”
