Merz: Criticism of Israel must not turn into antisemitism
Berlin, September 18 (Hibya) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that he shares common concerns with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez about the developments in Gaza, particularly regarding the military operation against Gaza City.
Merz noted that the two countries may reach different conclusions about the events, but emphasized: “We agree on one point: criticism of the Israeli government must never turn into antisemitism or hatred toward Jewish citizens.”
It was noted that both leaders agreed on the need to show sensitivity in the face of the humanitarian crisis in the region.
