Meloni: We managed to rise and return stronger
Rome, April 6 (Hibya) – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni made a statement on the anniversary of the 2009 earthquake in L'Aquila, Italy. Meloni said, “We were wounded 16 years ago, but we managed to rise and come back stronger.”
Prime Minister Meloni said they commemorated the 309 people who died in the earthquake that struck L'Aquila and Abruzzo in 2009.
She emphasized they remember the determination of all those who, with an extraordinary spirit of solidarity and self-sacrifice, did their best to address the emergency and contribute to the rebirth of the affected regions.
“We pay our respects to the people of Abruzzo, who have always shown strength and determination in the face of adversity and have never backed down. You are an example for all of Italy.”
Meloni stated that they were wounded 16 years ago but managed to rise again stronger: “L’Aquila and Abruzzo are being reborn thanks to an extraordinary team effort that we are all proud of. We will continue working in this spirit to complete the reconstruction.”
