Mahmoud Abbas rejects calls for the expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland
Ramallah, February 5 (Hibya) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his government strongly rejected calls for the seizure of the Gaza Strip and the expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland.
Palestinian President Abbas responded to U.S. calls for the displacement of Palestinians:
"We will not allow the violation of our people's rights, for which we have fought for decades and made great sacrifices to achieve. These calls represent a serious violation of international law, and without the establishment of a Palestinian state based on a two-state solution, within the June 4, 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, peace and stability in the region cannot be achieved."
Abbas emphasized that the Palestinian people will not give up their land, rights, and holy sites, noting that the Gaza Strip, along with the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which have been under occupation since 1967, is an integral part of the State of Palestine.
Palestinian President Abbas stated that Palestinian rights are non-negotiable, that the Palestinian people are their sole legitimate representative, and that no one has the right to decide their future on their behalf.
