French President Emmanuel Macron made statements regarding the frigate named “Kimon” delivered to Greece.

Macron stated that the defense and intervention frigate, built in Lorient and received by Greece, demonstrates the strength of the strategic partnership between France and Greece, and said:

“This defense and intervention frigate, built in Lorient and acquired by Greece, shows the strength of the strategic partnership that binds our two countries, and today we are renewing this partnership.”

Macron also noted that the Kimon frigate operating alongside the French Navy’s Languedoc ship off the coast of Cyprus demonstrates the ability to act together for security in the Mediterranean and Europe.

It was emphasized in the statement that France and Greece continue to cooperate on European security, the protection of citizens, and the defense of common interests.
