New York, February 19 (Hibya) - The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, stated that the agency is a tremendous asset for ensuring a viable political transition and building strong, empowered Palestinian institutions.
Commissioner-General Lazzarini emphasized at the 4th meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in Cairo this week the critical role UNRWA can play in providing essential services, including education and healthcare for children.
He stated that integrating the agency into the political process would help protect Palestinian refugees and their rights.
