Lazzarini: Killings in Gaza Have Become Routine
New York, March 31 (Hibya) – Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, made statements regarding Gaza.
Lazzarini stated that over the past 1.5 years since the start of the war in Gaza, 408 aid workers, including more than 280 UNRWA staff, have lost their lives.
He noted that the body of his colleague who died yesterday in Rafah was found dumped in a shallow grave, calling it a profound violation of human dignity.
"These were humanitarian aid workers. Whether on the frontlines or at home with their families, civilians must always be protected. Targeting or endangering emergency response teams, journalists, or humanitarian workers is a clear and serious violation of international law. In Gaza, these killings have become routine," Lazzarini said.
