Lahbib: Violence is escalating even as it seems to have become unbearable
Brussels, February 19 (Hibya) – European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that civilians, health facilities, and humanitarian workers are being targeted in Sudan’s Darfur and Kordofan regions.
EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib said, "Violence is escalating even as it seems to have become unbearable." Lahbib noted that civilians, health facilities, and humanitarian workers are being targeted in Sudan’s Darfur and Kordofan regions.
Lahbib stated that drone and rocket attacks against people and the World Food Programme’s (WFP) aid could constitute war crimes, adding, "All parties must stop the fighting and allow safe humanitarian access."
