EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Lahbib stated that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is becoming increasingly devastating.

In her statement, Lahbib said: “The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains inhumane and devastating.”

Drawing attention to the new Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report on Gaza, Lahbib said: “The new report still paints a very bleak picture: 1.6 million people, the vast majority of the population, are facing severe food insecurity in the Gaza Strip.”

Lahbib concluded her statement by saying: “European Union partners urgently need large-scale access.”
