Kallas: We should not fall into Russia’s negotiation trap
Brussels, May 28 (Hibya) - European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas said Russia is trying to determine who should negotiate with them, adding, “We should not fall into this trap.”
European Commission Vice President Kallas stated that Russia is trying to steer diplomatic processes. Kallas said Russia “wants to create a discussion about who will talk to them” and is promoting actors it considers suitable within this framework. She stressed that this approach should not be accepted.
Kallas said negotiations should not be conducted individually but as a team and according to a defined strategy, adding, “Let us not fall into this trap.”
Kallas also stated that the issues discussed during the meetings held in Cyprus were of greater importance.
