Kallas: EU aims to approve most comprehensive sanctions list against Russia
Brussels, October 10 (Hibya) - European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas said Russia had killed more than 80 Ukrainian civilians in two days, stressing that pressure on Russia should not be eased. Kallas said European Union foreign ministers plan to approve new sanctions lists targeting Russia’s war capacity.
European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas commented on Russia’s attacks against Ukraine and its hybrid activities in Europe.
Kallas said more than 80 Ukrainian civilians had been killed in Russian attacks within two days, adding that Russia had also increased its hybrid attacks against European Union member states and NATO allies.
Kallas argued that suspending sanctions on Russian diesel would provide Moscow with more revenue to continue its war, noting that this was not the right time to ease pressure on Russia.
Kallas said Europe would continue to maintain pressure on Russia, adding that European Union foreign ministers plan on Monday to approve the most comprehensive new sanctions list since the beginning of the war, targeting Russia’s war machine.
