In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said that Adi Adli Abd Alaa, who served in Hamas's military wing, was killed in an airstrike carried out in the southern Gaza Strip.

The statement claimed that the individual had recently been advancing plans for attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians and had been attempting to rebuild Hamas's capabilities.

The Israeli military said the operation was carried out to eliminate the existing threat, citing what it described as systematic violations of the ceasefire. The statement also said that forces under the IDF Southern Command were deployed in the area under the agreement and would continue their activities.
