According to a statement from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

The statement noted the following about the conversation:

"Araghchi emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between Iran and Indonesia as two major developing Islamic countries. He stated that previously reached agreements should be carefully followed up, and highlighted the importance of maintaining high-level, sustainable relations. The Indonesian Foreign Minister agreed with her Iranian counterpart on the tragic situation of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, stressing the need for an immediate ceasefire and continuous humanitarian aid delivery, and called for joint efforts and consensus among Islamic countries."
