Guterres calls for gender equality
New York, September 17 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for action to achieve gender equality.
UN Secretary-General Guterres emphasized that gender equality should not be portrayed as a favor to women and girls.
He noted that equality is important to ensure dignity and justice for all, adding: "However, poverty, wars, climate disasters and barriers continue to hinder progress."
Guterres called on societies to take action to empower women and girls and to achieve true equality.
