United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi shared his thoughts and feelings regarding the decoration presented to him and the honor bestowed upon him.

Highlighting the significance of the award, Grandi said: "To be honored in such a distinguished way by President Mattarella 'for service to the Republic' is an extraordinary privilege."

Grandi stated that he dedicates this meaningful recognition to those who are dear to him, concluding: "I dedicate it to those who have been forced to flee, to those who welcome them, and to my family, friends, and colleagues for their support and affection."
