Ghebreyesus: WHO is working with the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon
Geneva, September 20 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that he is working with the Ministry of Public Health to respond to the mass accident incident in Lebanon.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus stated that they are working with the Ministry of Public Health to respond to the mass accident incident in Lebanon, saying: "In the past months, WHO and its partners have trained more than 5,000 health workers to respond to such incidents, covering more than two-thirds of the country's hospitals."
Ghebreyesus added that they have distributed trauma and emergency surgical supplies, stating: "We are working to meet urgent needs, including blood supplies and blood test kits, and to monitor how the health system is functioning."
