Ghebreyesus meets with Jadhav and Kotecha
Geneva, December 19 (Hibya) — World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that he held talks with India’s AYUSH Ministry of State Minister Prataprao Jadhav and Ministry Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha to discuss deepening cooperation in the field of traditional medicine.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus met with India’s AYUSH Ministry of State Minister Jadhav and Ministry Secretary Kotecha.
Commenting on the meeting, Ghebreyesus said: “I was pleased to meet with India’s AYUSH Ministry of State Minister Prataprao Jadhav and Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha. We discussed deepening our cooperation in the field of traditional medicine.”
Ghebreyesus thanked the Indian government for hosting the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine, noting that the centre will operate in the areas of research, standard setting, and building strong scientific evidence on the safety, efficacy, and quality of traditional medicine.
It was reported that the meeting was held as part of efforts to enhance cooperation between the WHO and India in the field of traditional medicine.
