Ghebreyesus: Health must never be a target
Geneva, December 21 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said reports that Sudanese health workers detained in South Darfur have been released are encouraging.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus welcomed reports indicating that Sudanese health workers detained in South Darfur have been released.
Stressing that the immediate release of all detained health workers and civilians is imperative, Ghebreyesus said: “At this critical time, doctors and other health workers are needed more than ever to ensure the delivery of essential services to communities in need.”
Ghebreyesus emphasized that health must never be a target.
