WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made a statement regarding emergencies and global health efforts.

Ghebreyesus said: “Emergencies can take many different forms, but health lies at the center of every crisis. A mother giving birth without support, a child struggling to breathe, a clinic without electricity, a doctor without supplies.”

Ghebreyesus announced that the WHO provided 47.3 million basic health service consultations.

Noting that the WHO assisted 30 million people living in emergency situations, Ghebreyesus stated: “In 2025, the WHO reached 30 million people in emergencies, health teams kept more than 8,100 facilities operational, 1,370 mobile clinics were deployed, and 47.3 million basic health service consultations were delivered. In addition, 5.3 million vaccinations were carried out in the hardest-to-reach areas.”
