Ghebreyesus calls for investment in tuberculosis vaccines
Geneva, November 5 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has called for the development of new vaccines against tuberculosis and for ensuring their accessibility to everyone.
Ghebreyesus emphasized that tuberculosis remains one of the world’s deadliest diseases.
In a joint appeal with South African Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi to the health ministers of G20 countries, Ghebreyesus said: “We can end tuberculosis, but this requires sustained investment to ensure that promising vaccines reach those who need them.”
