Fiala: I find the tightening of 2040 climate targets unnecessary
Prague, September 17 (Hibya) – Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala described the EU’s 2040 climate targets as “unnecessary.”
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala stated: “I find the tightening of 2040 climate targets unnecessary. The European Union already has sufficiently ambitious targets, and we need to focus on implementing them reasonably. The European Commission’s proposal is unrealistic, disregards the current security and geopolitical situation, and endangers the competitiveness of our industry, jobs, and social cohesion. Therefore, I welcome the suspension of its approval and the discussion of its impacts. We are ready to find smart, realistic, and fair solutions for Czechia and Europe.”
