European stock markets search for direction
Istanbul, September 15 (Hibya) - European markets showed a mixed performance, with divergences among indices coming to the fore.
On the second trading day of the week, index-specific moves stood out across European markets. The UK stock market traded higher, while the Italian market came under noticeable selling pressure. The benchmark index and the German stock market ended the day unchanged.
In the UK, the FTSE 100 index rose 0.44 percent to 10,697.57 points.
In Italy, the FTSE MIB index fell 1.68 percent to 51,628.77 points.
The STOXX 600 index, representing the broader European market, closed flat at 635.99 points, while Germany's DAX index also ended unchanged at 25,440.81 points.
