EU welcomes ceasefire agreement proposal from Jeddah
Brussels, March 11 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed news from Jeddah regarding the proposed ceasefire agreement in the framework of US-Ukraine talks.
The European Commission President, von der Leyen, welcomed the ceasefire proposal, as well as reports on the resumption of intelligence sharing and security aid from the US.
Emphasizing that this could be a positive step towards a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace for Ukraine, von der Leyen stated: "The ball is now in Russia’s court. The EU is fully ready to play its role in the upcoming peace negotiations alongside its partners."
