Brussels, March 17 (Hibya) - The Council of the European Union (EU) congratulated Ireland on the occasion of St. Patrick’s Day and highlighted the country’s culture and heritage.
The EU Council celebrated Ireland’s National Day via social media, sharing the message: “Happy National Day, Ireland!” The statement emphasized that St. Patrick’s Day, celebrated on March 17, honors Irish culture and heritage.
The Council also provided information about the origins of Halloween: “Halloween began in Ireland 2,000 years ago with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.”
