EU Commission Vice-President Kallas sends sanctions message to Iran
Brussels, January 20 (Hibya) – European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas made statements regarding developments in Iran.
European Commission Vice-President Kallas said that Iranian women and men “are fighting to choose their own future,” stressing that this struggle is being waged for freedom, dignity, and a better life. Calling the “brutal repression” carried out by Iranian authorities unacceptable, Kallas noted that the European Union’s position on the matter is clear.
Recalling that the European Union already imposes comprehensive sanctions on Iran, Kallas stated that work is underway on new sanctions in addition to the existing measures.
